Budweiser Race Preview: Texas

Dale Earnhardt Jr. – driver, No. 8 Budweiser team:
“When I’m old and gray, I’m going to bore my grandkids with race stories from my driving days, and I’m sure Texas will wind up in many of the stories. It’s a lot like Atlanta, because it takes some guts to get around there fast. I think our record shows we’ve been one of the teams to deal with there every year. It’d be hard to forget those days, or last year’s race where Jeff Gordon and I were back-and-forth for second place there at the end. It was wild. We were able to get him at the finish and maybe this week we’ll be doing the same for the race win.”

“We let a real shot at the win – certainly a top-three finish - slip away at Bristol. We don’t make excuses. We’ve had really good pit stops this year, but we slipped and hurt ourselves. I guess we’ll have to prove ourselves again this week like we did at Atlanta.”
