Budweiser NASCAR Winston Cup Race Preview

New Hampshire Int'l Speedway - July 3, 2000

Quotes from Dale Earnhardt Jr.
"It seems like we have some unfinished business at Loudon. We ran there last year (as one of the five Winston Cup races for the Budweiser team in 1999), and we were doing really well until we dropped out with mechanical troubles. We have a much better team this year, so I hope that means we can run in the top 5 or top 10 this weekend.

"I like the track because it has some very tough corners. Because the corners are very flat, it's easy to spin tires the tires coming off the corners. I think it takes a good driver to run well and to take care of the tires and the car for the entire race."

What To Watch
The 2000 season is at the halfway point, and it has been a spectacular year so far for Dale Earnhardt Jr. and the Budweiser team. Following the first 17 races, here are the numbers behind the success.

Races Started: 17
Wins: 2
Poles: 1
Prize Money: $1,271,991

Average Finish: 19.8

Top 5 Finishes: 3

Most Laps Led: 2 races

These figures do not include Dale Jr.'s stunning victory in NASCAR's all-star race The Winston. If you include the Winston, The Bud crew is the only team to visit victory lane three times this season, and it pushes their prize money to almost $1.8 million.

Thanks to Jade from BudPR for the update! Jim :~)
