Pit Board Rules

How do I contact the board owner or moderator?
Email: Jim 8-) - Webmaster/Board Owner/Administrator

You must be at least 13 years old to participate on these boards.

Dale Jr Pit Board: These boards should be used to discuss Dale Earnhardt Jr. and race related topics, although Dale Jr. should be the primary subject of this board other posts about racing are allowed. If a topic gets out of control it will be dealt with at that time. (If for some reason a race related post(s) causes a problem it may be removed without warning, if you have a problem with this contact the moderators)

Non-Race Related Board: This board is available for open discussions, just about any topic is allowed here, however, discussions that should be avoided are those that would contain subjects that would be more suited for an adult audience. In other words, if an entire family of all age groups can't read it then it shouldn't be posted. (If a post(s) causes a problem it may be removed without warning, if you have a problem with this contact the moderators)

Pit Board Rules:

If you have any questions and/or comments regarding the rules of these message boards, please contact the Webmaster.

1) This message board is for Dale Earnhardt, Jr fans, it's a place for the fans, moderated by the fans. • use profanity (to make this clear to some people, this includes abbreviations, anything a NASCAR driver would get fined for saying on TV is not allowed on this board), obscenities, objectionable language and/or attachments
  • threaten, harass, or are personal attacks on others
  • impersonate others for malicious reasons

Getting along with your fellow Pit Board members:

The P.B. Golden Rule: Agree to disagree and treat others the way you want to be treated.

Remember: Everyone has an opinion, everyone has a right to an opinion, everyone has the right to agree or disagree with that opinion. If a person doesn't agree with you on a certain issue that doesn't mean they are attacking you. Sometimes people can be overly sensitive and take a disagreement as an attack, if you are this type of person you need to understand that YOU are not being attacked, it just so happens that others do not agree with your OPINION. Learning the difference could make a big difference in how much you enjoy posting here, or on any board.

If you are going to disagree with someone, please disagree with their OPINION in their message, don't get PERSONAL. For example, if someone posts incorrect information, it would be fine to say, "your facts are wrong," but it is not appropriate to say "you are an idiot." Everyone has a different degree of knowledge about autoracing, if you are knowledgeable don't use that to belittle people, at one time you didn't know much either.

Do not post personal attacks or engage in name-calling against other members of these boards. Do not diminish someone's character (if one's not intelligent enough to have a discussion of facts and circumstances, without striving to diminishing the character of another member, he's/she's not mature enough to participate on these boards). Do not "stalk" or follow someone into another thread to try to continue a disagreement you had elsewhere. Do not start a new discussion thread with the purpose of "calling out" another member or picking a fight with another member. Do not use your signature line to draw negative attention to another member of these boards.

If you are the type of person who just can't get along with other people, and if you seem to repeatedly cause trouble, eventually we will decide that your presence is a disruption and we will ban you. It doesn't matter if you are a new member or a long-term member of these boards.

There are no exceptions to these rules. You cannot attack someone because they attacked you first, or because that person "deserved it," or because you think someone is a disrupter. We consider it a personal attack to call a liar a liar, to call a moron a moron, or to call a jerk a jerk.

Do not "police" the boards, that is the moderators job, if you have a problem e-mail them with your concerns.

Do not continually spam your site on these boards (non-commercial web pages), sharing your site is allowed (as long as it isn't on a continual bases), but advertising it is not.

Do not use these boards to post email notices to each other. Most reputable email services will let you know if something is undeliverable. The only exception to this rules is if it is a real "emergency".

Any threats e-mailed to the administrators, moderators or other members of these message boards will be turned over to the proper authorities.

Things that should be avoided:

Try to avoid posting entire copyrighted articles. If you wish to reference an article, provide a brief excerpt and include a link to the original source, the writer and webmaster deserve the proper credit and visits to their site. Generally, excerpts should not exceed three or four paragraphs. To learn how to link an article go to the FAQ page.

Try to avoid long one-to-one discussions in the same thread, these are more suited for chat programs.

Try to avoid posts that say, "this board is not the same" or "I like how this board used to be, I don't like it anymore". If the poster doesn't like the board anymore why is the poster still visiting the place and causing themselves such turmoil?

Try to avoid posting messages about "the right to free speech", we all have that right, but in a private or public area like a racetrack, bar, your house (perhaps :-) ), there are rules to follow, just as there are rules for this board.

The Moderators and You:

Treat the moderators with respect.

Do not post messages attacking the moderators or administrators.

All of the moderators on this discussion board are volunteers. They provide their time and their good judgment to this website free of charge. They do not make the rules; they only enforce the rules. They do not deserve to have scorn heaped upon them either publicly or privately.

If you think something requires the attention of the moderators, please email them so they can address the problem next time they log on to their computer.

Please be aware that moderators are not expected to be online all the time, and therefore they cannot respond immediately to every problem that arises on this discussion board. If you send an alert or complaint to a moderator, please give that moderator sufficient time to respond. Do not assume that a moderator is ignoring your concerns merely because he or she does not respond as quickly as you would like.

When a moderator enforces the message board rules, members are expected to respect their authority and abide by their decisions. If you disagree with a moderator's decision, you are encouraged to politely explain why you disagree through e-mail. Do not send rude, dismissive, or disrespectful responses to the moderators.

If you think a moderator has acted inappropriately, please contact the board owner privately so he can talk things over with you.

Do not publicly post private messages you receive from moderators and administrators.

You participate at your own risk on these boards. You take responsibility for what you post under your username and use the information provided here at your own risk. dalejrpitstop.com takes no responsibility for the content or opinions posted here.
